Club Minutes

                         March 13, 2014


This meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Bob, N4CU followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the invocation by Daniel, KK4VAX.



The meeting was conducted by President Bob, N4CU and there were 19 members and one guest present.


Secretary Report:

February minutes were posted on the W4AAZ.ORG website.  There were no changes made to the February minutes.  Bob, W5RE made a motion to accept the minutes as posted, 2nd David, WB4EWS and approved by membership.


Treasurer Report:

Mark, KA5NDH provided the treasurer’s report.  Mark said there were 21 paid members and said the old club officers were removed and new, club officers have been given access to the club bank account.  Mark indicated that all bills were current but some members from last year have not paid their dues.  Bob, W5RE made a motion to accept the treasures report, 2nd by Steve, KJ4RWD and approved by the membership.


Repeater Report:

Steve, N4GXX was not available for the report but no repeater problems were reported.


Station Report:

Richard, KE4BFX, said the club station is working and nothing to report.


Training Report:

Ron KI5FR said there was nothing to report.  Please contact Ron at if you have any questions, concerns or comments about training.


Website Report:

Phil, N6COP said the Website had received over 900 hits in February with 323 unique visitors.  Phil asked Mark, KA5NDH, to provide a list of all paid members so he can update the membership list on the club website.

ARES Report:

Tony, AK4ZI said nothing to report.


Activities Report:

Cal, W4GMH said on Saturday, March 29, 2014, NOARC will be assisting the 10th annual Blackwater, Bluegrass, and BBQ Cook off (Triple B) held in downtown Crestview on the 29th of March from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Communication assistance will be needed from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. during set-up.  Volunteers can contact Ron,  Ron gave a report on last year’s support of the Triple B.  Ron asked volunteers to meet in front of Hideaway Pizza on Main Street.  Volunteers were asked to bring a reflective vest, and 2 meter HT (with extra battery).  A headset would be helpful.   Please use 146.550 MHZ simplex for the event.  Cal said he had reserved two tables at the Playground Amateur Radio Club Hamfest for Friday and Saturday, 14 -15 March.  Bob, N4CU and Cal would bring the donated items down to the Hamfest on Friday afternoon.  Cal also asked members who brought items to price their items before leaving the meeting.  Members can also bring their items directly to the Hamfest.  Proceeds will benefit NOARC.


Old Business: 

Mike, KK4KRZ said the Club Officers met on Wednesday the 12th of March to finalize proposed changes to the Club Bylaws.  A copy of the proposed Bylaws will be sent in the club newsIetter.  If you would like a copy contact Mike KK4KRZ at  The proposed changes to the Bylaws will be discussed and voted on at the April club general meeting.  Please read the changes prior to coming to the meeting.


New Business:

The Playground Area Radio Club, PARC, will have their Hamfest on 14th and 15th of March at the Fort Walton Beach Fair Grounds on Lewis Turner Blvd.  The times are Friday 14th March from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday the 15th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The cost for entry is $6.00.  Daniel, KK4VAX, Club Custodian, gave copies of the club equipment inventory to club officers.  Daniel said he still needs to inventory the club antennas and that all club HT’s have been returned to the club station.  


Motion to adjourn was made by Glenn K4GAG, 2nd by Daniel, KK4VAX and carried unanimously with no opposing votes.
