This meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Club President Bob, N4CU followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the invocation.
The meeting was conducted by Club President Bob, N4CU. There were 16 members present.
December minutes were posted on the W4AAZ.ORG website. Bob, W5RE indicated there was an error on the activity report. Ron, KI5FR reviewed the minutes and found a section was missing which he will correct. A motion was made to accept the minutes by Steve Storm, N4GXX. The motion was seconded by Richard Russell, K6SSD and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion with no opposing votes.
The Treasurer report was presented by David Hayden, WB4EWS. The Club insurance was paid in December. The balance does not include club membership dues collected at this meeting.
The repeater report was presented by Steve, N4GXX. The repeater is working. There was a discussion about the strobe light next to the repeater antenna causing a hum. After much discussion as to what could be done, no action was taken.

Ron, KI5FR reported he wants to have a General Class to upgrade club members with Technician tickets. The class will be held at the Dorcus Fire Station with a date yet to be selected. Those interested please email Ron at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ron also said a Technician class could be organized. Several members knew of possible candidates who may be interested. Mike, KK4KRZ suggested placing a poster at various local bulletin boards around Crestview asking for interested persons to contact Ron. The Technician class can be taught in one day at the Dorcus Fire Station. Steve N4GXX, is organizing DStar training for the 16th of February at 7:00PM (Frequency to be determined).
Phil, N6COP was not available, therefore no report was given.

The Activities report was presented by Cal,W4GMH. Cal reported there will be a planning meeting for the use of five utility poles as antenna supports for the club station.
Cal handed out Google earth overview (with dimensions) to members of the club. On the 19th of January (Tech night) members are asked to bring their ideas for use of the poles at the club station. Four poles are 45 feet long and one is 50 feet long. Cal suggested a 10 foot mast with cross bar be attached to the top of each pole with pulleys attached to these cross bars and nylon cord for raising and lowering various antennas.
Cal wants ideas for placement of the poles on the property and ideas for antennas. It was suggested by Bob, W6VVA that one pole near the station be capable of mounting a rotary antenna.
On February 2 at 9:00 AM, Dorcus Fire Station, a planning meeting will be held to build new station consoles and shelves. Those who would like to help please attend.
Ron, KI5FR, has started planning for Field Day and is planning for Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast food. Bob, W6VVA, suggested planning also a Mid-night meal. Ron, KI5FR wants 5 radios working (3 radios on CW/Voice, 1 radio for Digital and one radio for GOTA/Voice (Unlicensed Ham under control of Ham).
NOARC donated the ARRL Library set to Bob Sikes Library in December. The Library set included 11 books and a map. These materials will be available to anyone in the Okaloosa county library system.
Hamcation is on the 8-9-10 February in Orlando. Many members will be attending.
Bob, N4CU announced the Club Vice President has moved to Texas and we need a replacement. Jim, AJ4XK was asked to find a replacement. Several candidates were suggested with no decision made.
Steve, N4GXX was presented with a Plaque for this year’s outstanding contributing member of North Okaloosa Amateur Radio Club. All members present congratulated Steve for his support of NOARC.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Steve, N4GXX, seconded by Bob, W6VVA and carried unanimously to accept the motion with no opposing votes.
