Club Minutes

                     September 13, 2012


This meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Club President Bob, N4CU followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the invocation. 



The meeting was conducted by Club President Bob, N4CU. There were 15 members present.


Secretary Report:

August minutes were posted on the W4AAZ.ORG website.  A motion was made to accept the minutes by Mike, KJ4FNA. The motion was seconded by Dave, KB4EWS and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion with no opposing votes.


Treasurer Report:

The Treasurer report was presented by Dave, WB4EWS.


Repeater Report:

The repeater report was presented by Steve, N4GXX.  The repeater is working.


Station Report:

Richard, KE4BFX reported the station is working. He is working N8PXE for a standardize frequency list for the new handhelds.


Training Report:

Ron, KI5FR reported ongoing training on the newly revived Okaloosa County ARES net.  D-Star; Steve, N4GXX is doing D-Star training on the 444.95 repeater (positive offset 100Hz Tone) 7:00 PM on Saturday nights. For more info, please email at . Steve also advised everyone to back up their settings before experimenting to avoid having to go back to original settings if one runs into problems.


Website Report:

The website report was presented by Ron, KI5FR who confirmed the website was working since the online minutes were checked. 


ARES Report:

The ARES report was presented by Jerry, N8PXE.   Hurricane Issac caused no problems for the local area.  Finding some issues with the NFL Section website, will pass info as it becomes available 


Activities Report:

The Activities report was presented by Chayne, KI4WBN.

Possible upcoming activities:


Oct. 27th (Sat) – Fall Festival needs 8-12 hams 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Nov. 3rd (Sat) – Cystic Fibrosis 5K need 8-10 hams (maybe less) 7:00am – 9:00am

Nov. 10th (Sat) – Veteran’s Day Parade 8-10 hams 8:30am – 10:00am

Dec. 1st (Sat) – Crestview Christmas Parade 10 – 14 Hams setup at 3:00pm


Other activities:

On Aug. 11th Okaloosa EOC attached DRats to reflector 46C

          9:00 a.m. Start VEOC visit

          9:45 a.m. DRATS Presentation

          12:15 a.m. DRATS on FLEOC reflector

          12:30 a.m. End


Cal, W4GMH will send out an email with a list of volunteers.


3rd Thursday Dec 21st – Tri-Club Okaloosa County Ham Christmas Party.

Next Tech night, Jerry, N8PXE asked folks to bring in go kits.

Future possibility, local repeater usable ranges.


After a round table, a motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Steve, N4GXX, seconded by Mike, KJ4FNA and carried unanimously to accept the motion with no opposing votes.
