Club Minutes

                     March 8, 2012

  

This meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by Club President Bob, N4CU followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the invocation.

  

Attendance:

The meeting was conducted by Club President Bob, N4CU. There were 17 members present.

  

Secretary Report:

February minutes were posted on the W4AAZ.ORG website. A motion was made to accept the minutes by Dick, N6SSD. The motion was seconded by Glenn, K4GAG and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion with no opposing votes.

  

Treasurer Report:

The treasurer report was presented by Dave, WB4EWS. There had been a recent deposit of $400 bringing the club account balance to $2277.38. An additional $60 had been collect before the meeting and will be deposited. A motion was made to accept the minutes by Mike, KJ4FNA. The motion was seconded by Chayne, KI4WBN and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion with no opposing votes.

  

Repeater Report:

The repeater report was presented by Steve, N4GXX.  The repeater was working fine.  The D-Star was ill however.  There was a crash approximately 2.5 weeks ago, a power supply blew and the CAT 5 cable up the tower was full of water.  Looking to replace and fix where needed, still have some capability.

  

Station Report:

The station report was presented by Richard, KE4BFX.  Antenna tightening is scheduled for Sat 10 Mar.  In addition, the crew would attempt to mark guy wires for safety using reflective tape.

  

Training Report:

No Report.

  

Website Report:

The website report was presented by Phil, N6COP.  The website is working.  However, the rates are going up so Phil is shopping for the most competitive deal.

  

SYSOP Report:

The SYSOP report was presented by Sharon, KJ4TPQ.  Part of the system is not working.  Successfully connecting to reflector but not being heard elsewhere, and not getting out.

  

ARES Report:

Richard, KE4BFX reported the county EOC director Ken may want to move the D-Star repeater to the south part of the county.  1.2GHz radio is not working to his satisfaction and cannot get on the gateway.  However, there is a plan in place to fix as much as possible.  Bob, N4CU will work with Ken about plans to fix the contact problem, along with other issues.

  

Activities Report:

The Activities report was presented by Chayne, KI4WBN. Upcoming activities:

Mar 23-24 – PARC Hamfest

Mar 24 – BBB in downtown Crestview

Apr 14 – Scout-a-Rama

May 18-20 – Hamvention, Dayton, OH

After the round table, a motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Glenn, K4GAG, seconded by Steve, N4GXX and carried unanimously to accept the motion with no opposing votes.
