This meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Club President Bob, N4CU followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the invocation.
The meeting was conducted by Club President Bob, N4CU. There were 18 members present.
December minutes were posted on the W4AAZ.ORG website. A motion was made to accept the minutes by Bob, W5RE. The motion was seconded by Bob, WA6VVA and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion with no opposing votes.
The treasurer report was presented by Bob, KI4MEU. A motion was made to accept the minutes by Glen, K4GAG. The motion was seconded by Steve, KJ4RWD and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion with no opposing votes.
The repeater report was presented by Steve, N4GXX. Repeater is working well.
Richard, KE4BFX was not present but Bob, N4CU stated the previous station manager, Richard, W4RLR left a letter with a number of maintenance items still to accomplish for the station. This was passed to Richard, KE4BFX; Jerry, N8PXE; and Steve, KJ4RWD. Bob, N4CU mentioned a work party may be needed to accomplish the items on the list.
The training report was presented by Ron, KI5FR. There is a PARC test session on Saturday, January 14 2012, 9:00 AM at the PARC club house. The 9:00 AM start will be the regular start time for the PARC test sessions at their club house.
The website report was presented by Phil, N6COP. He reported the website was up and running and all recent requested changes had been made on line.
The SYSOP report was presented by Bob, N4CU. Sharon, KJ4TPQ is working a D-STAR problem. She requests if there is an issue, to let her know by email and she will work it. If any higher level issues are found, she will take them forward as appropriate.
The ARES report was presented by Bob, N4CU. Reported the section manager Paul, KJ4G would attempt to buy new items for the club use.
The Activities report was presented by Chayne, KI4WBN.
Christmas party was a success with participation from all the Okaloosa clubs as well as Santa Rosa, and Walton counties. In addition, Paul, KJ4G came by for the meal. Bob, N4CU made special mention of the Twin Cities club contributing ice and labor, Bob, WA6VVA’s delicious turkeys and Cal, W4GMH providing entertainment.
Bob, N4CU mentioned he would like to see the club participate in more contests during the upcoming spring contest season.
Numerous members mentioned a number of upcoming events:
- Feb. 10-12 Orlando Hamfest (Cal, W4GMH has one seat available for trip)
- “Chicken-Picken” First weekend of March (Sat Mar 3) Falling Waters State Park, Chipley FL
- Mar 23-24 PARC Hamfest at the Okaloosa County Fairgrounds
- Mar 24 Triple B in Downtown Crestview. Start at 7:00AM usually 2 shifts of 2 hours each.
- May 18-20 Dayton Hamvention
Steve, N4GXX brought up the potential changes to the by-laws mentioned at the last meeting:
- An individual may not serve more than 3 consecutive years as Treasurer.
- Full membership dues were raised to $20 and associate membership for repeater support is $12 (This is not the actual wording for the by-laws). The Secretary is to rewrite the By-Laws with the new information to be posted0 on the W4AAZ.ORG website for member review. This issue remains tabled.
A motion was made to make Bob, N4CU the new club custodian by Bob, W5RE. The motion was seconded by Dave, WB4EWS and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion with no opposing votes.
A motion was made to pay Bob, KI4MEU a total of $13.19 for a new accordion file for the treasurer by Glenn, K4GAG. The motion was seconded by Steve, KJ4RWD and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion with no opposing votes.
All engaged in a round table and then the meeting was adjourned
