Club Minutes

                     November 10, 2011


This meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by club Vice President Jerry N8PXE, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the invocation.



The meeting was conducted by Club Vice President Jerry N8PXE.  There were 16 members present.


Secretary Report:

October minutes were posted on the W4AAZ.ORG website.  A motion to accept the minutes as posted was made by Mike KJ4FNA.  The motion was seconded and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion with no opposing votes.


Treasurer Report

The treasurer report was presented by Bob KI4MEU.  A motion to accept the report was made by Richard KE4BFX.  The motion was seconded and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion with no opposing votes.


Repeater Report:

Steve N4GXX reported that the repeater is working fine.



No Report.


Training Report:

Ron KI5FR has no training to report.  The radios for new Ham’s have not been purchased.  Ron hopes he can get a better deal by waiting.


Website Report:

Phil-N6COP stated the clubs web site W4AAZ.ORG is working well.  Phil commented the “ODOG” site does not belong to anyone club or membership in particular.  The “Okaloosa Digital Operators Group” (ODOG) K4FWD D-Star Repeater Crestview, Fl. was put together for folks wishing to use and learn about D-Star.  Visit this site for more D-Star information.

Activities Report:

Chayne KI4WBN reported there were about 20 Scouts that participated in JOTA.  The scouts enjoyed making contacts and some were quit mike shy.  Fun was had by all.


Old Business:

Steve N4GXX reported on a new round table being held on Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. on K4FWB Port C, which discusses D-Star issues.  This is an open forum, not formal, so if you would like to hear about what is new in D-Star and how D-Star is moving into D Rats etc, join in the conversation.  Very informative.


New Business:

Ron KI5FR volunteered to lead the nominating committee for year 2012 NOARC Officers.  Phil N6COP and Steve KJ4RWD volunteered to assist helping find nominees for new positions.  Mike KJ4FNA stated he would not be the secretary in 2012.  He is looking to be free as a member.


Jerry N8PXE reported we have a Christmas party scheduled on 16 December 2011 at 7:00 p.m. located in the North Bay Church 4681 Highway 20, Niceville.  Currently the club is looking for members to attend and also bring a dish to feed several members.  There will be other clubs in attendance also.  Get with Bob N4CU to coordinate a dish.   During this party new officers will be announced.


General Discussion:

We did a round table where activities were discussed.  Bob W5RE then made a motion to close the meeting.  The motion was seconded and carried unanimously by a show of hands with no opposing votes.
