This meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by club President Bob N4CU, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the invocation.
The meeting was conducted by Club President Bob N4CU. There were 20 members present.
There were no formal minutes taken for the August meeting due to the secretary being absent.
There was no treasurer report given.
The repeater report was presented by Steve N4GXX. We are still experiencing strobe noise. Other than that, all is well.
The station report was presented by Richard W4RLR. The lock on the station front door has been changed. Those needing entry need to see Bob N4CU for information. The station is not open on Sunday afternoons. If you wish to use the station, please let Richard W4RLR know so that he can make arrangements be present to let you in. There have been new additions to the station such as a refrigerator and file cabinet.
The training report was presented by Ron KI5FR. There were three new Hams in Navarre who attained their Technician license. Good job.
The web site was presented by Bob N4CU. The site is operational and the yearly fees have been paid.
The voice ID and announcements for the nets are being made. One net has been added for a total of three at this time. The newest net is the Birmingham net at 8:30 CDST, Reflector 002B. The reflector covers Alabama and surrounding states.
The ARES report was presented by Bob N4CU. Currently the county is conducting a walk-through of all shelters. Randy McDaniel’s is making maps so that everyone knows how to locate the shelter in your area if needed.
The activities report was presented by Chayne, KI4WBN. There appears to be some interest by Cub Scouts to attend JOTA. More information to follow.

Cal W4GMH spoke about the county auction of equipment and furniture from closing offices. Stay tuned for more sales once the new Court House opens. There were several NOARC members in attendance at the SKY Warn class conducted by the National Weather Service at the new county EOC. There is going to be an advanced class on 15 September in Andalusia, AL. for those interested.
Ron KI5FR made a motion for the club to buy the new hams a radio that if they paid for it we would pay half the fee, dollar for dollar. During discussions the motion was withdrawn. Bob W5RE made a motion for NOARC to purchase four HT 2 meter radios to sign out to new hams. They would then rapidly experience getting on the air once they are licensed. The club would own these radios and would be controlled by the station manager for accountability. The motion was seconded by Richard W4RLR and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion with no opposing.
Bob N4CU made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded and carried unanimously by a show of hands with no opposing votes.
