The motion was seconded and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion with no opposing votes. A motion was made by Bob KI4MEU to pay the insurance bill of $327.68. This motion was seconded and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion with no opposing votes.
The repeater report was presented by Steve N4GXX. The strobe noise has returned to the 147.360 repeater. This is possibly due to moving the antenna to the top of the tower to improve its coverage. In doing so it’s much closer to the strobe now. Further trouble shooting is needed. We also need to install a 1.2 GHz antenna for the D-Star data module. The date for this tower climb depends on the weather and a tower climber, assistant climber and line tenders. Safety is our upmost concern.
There was no training report presented.
The website report was presented by Phil N6COP. The website W4AAZ .org is working well.
The station report was presented by Richard W4RLR. The station is open on Sunday afternoons for those club members wishing to use our club equipment. Just one note: If you use any kitchen items or place things in the refrigerator, please clean up after yourself. It was reported that on one occasion the kitchen was found to be in disarray. Richard also reported that a new interface card needs to be procured so the computer and the 940 radio work together. A motion was made by Richard W4RLR to purchase this interface card at a cost of $99.00. The motion was seconded and carried unanimously by a show of hands to accept the motion and no opposing votes. A CW computer to radio interface was also installed at no charge. In order to use paddles you will need to bring your own keyer as there is no keyer in the radio.
The ARES report was presented by Bob N4CU. The new EOC in Niceville is open and operational. Its been requested by Ken Wolf that we install the D-Star 1.2 GHz antenna that was supplied by the county before the next Interoperability Exercise which is scheduled for 8-10 February 2011. We need someone to volunteer as a tower climber. Ken is also looking for volunteers to install radios in the EOC. If interested contact Bob N4CU. A tentative date for this is January 6.
